WHAT’S GREEN IN BIRMINGHAM?

Climate change (or climate chaos as some people call it) is a reality which will increasingly dominate the 21st century. As citizens of Britain’s second city, we can help create a city to be proud of, leading the way in reducing global warming to help save the planet for future generations.

If you’re looking for green products and services, green spaces, green initiatives and groups in Birmingham UK, start here. With your help, we can help everyone cut the carbon by pooling our knowledge on all the different initiatives in the city to cut CO2 and other greenhouse gases – and other forms of pollution.

GREENING BRUM:

If you are doing anything to help create a sustainable economy in the city, to preserve biodiversity, or to increase awareness of ecological issues, we want to know about it.

We would like to offer a free page to any Birmingham small business which has bona fide green products or services to offer the public. Here are few links for starters:

GreeninBrum sell a range of perennial plants, mainly fruit bushes.

The Friends of the Earth building in Allison Street, Digbeth has a recycled stationery shop, The Warehouse Café, the One Earth Shop for vegan wholefoods, and Sprocket Cycles.

Nima Delicatessen in Moseley Village stocks many of the foods which Sage Wholefoods used to sell, including organics. Indigo Wholefoods is planning to take up where Sage left off.

The Kitchen Garden Café in York Road, Kings Heath has a restaurant, a delicatessen, and an organic gardening shop. They tell us the vast majority of their food is organic or locally sourced.
