We even had our city council approve a resolution for an Earth Day this year, which is designed to raise awareness in the community. We also went a step further and have partnered with Publix to run a food drive next month. Kudos! This is not applicable in each instance, but if it is we should apply it. For example, instead of buying bottled water, get a water filter and drink tab water. Or instead of carrying things home in plastic bag, always take a carrier bag with you when shopping. As other commenters have pointed out here, most fruit and vegies we buy from supermarkets these days are treated with unnatural chemicals and I am sure that in years to come, we will find much of the prevalence of cancers and serious illness will be linked to these chemicals and preservatives.
