WHAT’S GREEN IN BIRMINGHAM?

Climate change (or climate chaos as some people call it) is a reality which will increasingly dominate the 21st century. As citizens of Britain’s second city, we can help create a city to be proud of, leading the way in reducing global warming to help save the planet for future generations.

If you’re looking for green products and services, green spaces, green initiatives and groups in Birmingham UK, start here. With your help, we can help everyone cut the carbon by pooling our knowledge on all the different initiatives in the city to cut CO2 and other greenhouse gases – and other forms of pollution.

GREENING BRUM:

If you are doing anything to help create a sustainable economy in the city, to preserve biodiversity, or to increase awareness of ecological issues, we want to know about it.

Warmer homes in Northfield

Jun 18th, 2008 by Chris Duggan, GreeninBrum | No comments yet

A scheme to provide energy efficiency measures and advice with regard to fuel bills, energy efficiency etc – warmer and cosier homes throughout the Northfield Ward…

Northfield Energy Efficiency Partnership is a joint working partnership between Birmingham City Council and Warm Zone Ltd, funded by DEFRA and local energy supplier npower.

We launched the Northfield Energy Efficiency Partnership on the 4th of March 2008 – with Cllr J Lines and Cllr K Bardford giving their approval to the scheme.

There was the NEEP team available to explain the scheme, explain how the survey was obtained, the database and the measures available to the residents.

The monthly Prize Draw was also done allowing £50 pounds of local shopping vouchers being given to the winning residents who have completed the NEEP survey in their own home

Please feel free to contact the NEEP team on 0121 569 5810 to answer any questions with regard the scheme

Thanks to Phil Beardmore at Birmingham Sustainable Energy Partnership for this information.
