WHAT’S GREEN IN BIRMINGHAM?

Climate change (or climate chaos as some people call it) is a reality which will increasingly dominate the 21st century. As citizens of Britain’s second city, we can help create a city to be proud of, leading the way in reducing global warming to help save the planet for future generations.

If you’re looking for green products and services, green spaces, green initiatives and groups in Birmingham UK, start here. With your help, we can help everyone cut the carbon by pooling our knowledge on all the different initiatives in the city to cut CO2 and other greenhouse gases – and other forms of pollution.

GREENING BRUM:

If you are doing anything to help create a sustainable economy in the city, to preserve biodiversity, or to increase awareness of ecological issues, we want to know about it.

Creation

Mar 6th, 2008 by Chris Duggan, GreeninBrum | 1 comment

GreeninBrum is a secular organisation, with no axe to grind on theories of evolution and creation, but we want to support those who are making links between their faith and their footprint. For the “Abrahamic” faiths (Christianity, Islam and Judaism), this often involves the notion that human beings are “stewards of creation”. Sometimes this has been misinterpreted as a carte blanche to do what we like with creation (a view the ‘Enlightenment’ inherited), but increasingly leading thinkers are seeing this differently.

If your church, mosque, synagogue, temple or faith group is doing something to reduce its footprint or persuade its members to do the same, we would like to publish it on this website. You can have your own free page and edit yourself, or you can tell us the news and we will do the rest. Please get in touch.

I haven’t found much useful information about creationism.

It’s often just a bunch of dogmatic babble, but this post had some ring of truth to it. It struck me for some reason, as something that is important and should be further investigated.

Many church groups are trying to find ways to reduce their carbon footprints but it seems that many do not know where to start.

Would it be possible to put together some sort of information pamphlet on how local community groups can get started in this?

I would gladly distribute a pamphlet to the local organizations to help get a carbon footprint reduction plan rolling!
