WHAT’S GREEN IN BIRMINGHAM?

Climate change (or climate chaos as some people call it) is a reality which will increasingly dominate the 21st century. As citizens of Britain’s second city, we can help create a city to be proud of, leading the way in reducing global warming to help save the planet for future generations.

If you’re looking for green products and services, green spaces, green initiatives and groups in Birmingham UK, start here. With your help, we can help everyone cut the carbon by pooling our knowledge on all the different initiatives in the city to cut CO2 and other greenhouse gases – and other forms of pollution.

GREENING BRUM:

If you are doing anything to help create a sustainable economy in the city, to preserve biodiversity, or to increase awareness of ecological issues, we want to know about it.

Green Birmingham email group

GreenBirmingham is a long-established email group which complements the work of GreeninBrum…

The GreenBirmingham email group is for everyone with an interest in Birmingham’s Environment. It aims to:

  • Provide useful information about what’s happening in Birmingham
  • Publicise your events and campaigns
  • Provide communication between diverse individuals and groups
  • Allow you to discuss, network and organise.

Typical subjects for discussion are green and sustainability issues in Birmingham, including transport, waste and recycling, conservation and development.

GreenBirmingham is ‘moderated’ – messages are not passed on if they are off-topic, or offensive, or overly repetitious, for example. All posts should be both “green” AND “Birmingham” (and polite).

GreenBirmingham allows you to view and post messages. It has a list of links to relevant websites . There is also a calendar for local environmental events, and a contact list for local organisations. For technical reasons, you will need to subscribe to post and gain full access to these.

All members are encouraged to add links, contacts and calendar entries so that GreenBirmingham becomes a useful shared resource for those interested in the environment in Birmingham.

New: Quick Easy subscription – just send an email to GreenBirmingham-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

The above is a copy of the group’s front page at Yahoo. GreeninBrum and GreenBirmingham are not formally related
