If there are apple trees aplenty and no project to harvest them, get some people together and set one up! Manchester Abundance started last summer and now we have a strong groups and plenty of volunteers for the upcoming harvest. If you are in Manchester and want to get involved, let us know.

There is a project in Bristol. They collect apples from gardens and press them for juice, like the above in London

I know of several fruit trees in public places in King’s Heath. If anyone is interested in getting together to pick, mainly, apples I am up for it. I would say it needs to be done by mid-October at the latest. – Oz

I don’t know of any in Brum. Its a great idea. A friend is volunteering for a project in London where they harvest apples and teach community
groups how to make apple juice. The owner of the tree gets some free juice so everyone is a winner. – Val (via Transition Birmingham network)
