Trees saved in Balsall Heath

Dec 4th, 2007 by Chris Duggan, GreeninBrum | No comments yet

December 2007 – a resident helps save local trees…

Prompt action by a local resident has saved a group of ten cherry trees in Balsall Heath – for now. She happened to be walking by when the tree surgeons arrived – and she happened to have been there when a Tree Protection Order was put on them more than ten years ago!

After a number of phonecalls to the Council on 0121 303 1115 a Council officer was able to tell the tree surgeon directly that the trees are protected. They cannot be cut down unless the Council gives permission.

Please get in touch with the Council to find out what trees are protected in your area. If you don’t know where they are, you can’t help protect them!
